Well hello there! I hope you are having an excellent week! I certainly am—I’m excited to share with you that we will be partnering up with Yes! Weekly here and there to create exciting, original content, and this week is the first week that woven can be found both in your inbox and in the magazine! Pretty exciting, right? We’ll also be partnering with some other innovative folks around town in the near future, and I’m so thrilled for what’s to come! I really can’t thank you enough for reading this newsletter every week—you’re making my dreams come true!
Now for what’s inside this edition: first up, we have an article about the roller derby girls of Greensboro. These chicks are tough, bad-ass women whose sport is finally starting to get the recognition it deserves—this year’s national battle was featured on ESPN2. I got the dirt about what it’s like to participate from our town’s league VP, Shannon Scott-Spillman, aka Wrecking Belle (and yes, her derby name was inspired by Miley). This is the article that you can find in YW.
Next up, we’ve got a super-short history lesson on Nathanael Greene—after restaurant and event happenings, Greensboro’s history is the most-requested subject to read about.
Then we’ll head over to Smith & Edge for a round of Cocktail Corner. If you haven’t been there yet, I highly recommend checking it out—I went there for an interview recently and loved how chic it was inside!
Thanks again, everyone!
